Transdigital
Transdigital is a living, international and dynamic gateway, a meeting point where research, science, the business and art worlds meet in the area called the zone Interreg Nord-Pas de Calais-Wallonie-Flanders.
Its mission is to create a dynamic technological network digitally linking research centres, innovative businesses and artistic and cultural projects. It is a place for exchanges, transmission of different kinds of knowledge, training, and extension using seminars, workshops and other collaborative artistic projects based on research activities organised in one or all of the three metropolises of the region (Lille/Tourcoing – Mons/Maubeuge – Ghent) and involving the zone interreg of France-Wallonie-Flanders.
Transdigital is financed by the European programme INTERREG IV.
Encounters
Several organisations including the Vooruit and the IBBT in Ghent, M15/Numediart and Virtualis in Mons, and Euratechnologies/Digiport in Lille-Tourcoing, are working on creating a continuing synergy between the arts, research and industry. Each meeting or encounter brings together 50 to 100 participants from the three regions, each of which takes a turn in presenting it.
Workshops (3 to 5 days)
These workshops offer an in-depth and repeated practical exposure to the research subjects proposed by businesses, universities or independent artists. Their aim is to set up collaborations between artists – researchers – engineers from the three regions, creating projects for both production and touring.
Residencies and productions
These productions are developed during artistic residencies at research centers or on site at businesses, allowing participants access to cutting-edge technologies (both software and hardware) as well as necessary scientific knowledge. They are offered in all three regions’ artistic venues and structures, particularly under the auspices of certain events such as Via (Mons-Maubeuge), Panorama, Latitudes Contemporaines (Lille) and The Game Is Up (Ghent), expanding their marketing to reach wider audiences.
